Public Health’s adult day care health services provide structured programs during the day in a community group setting.

Investigates animal-inflicted injuries to humans and/or their pets (e.g., bites, scratches), provides consultative services to the public and medical community regarding zoonotic diseases and rabies exposures, and works closely with Animal Care and Control of Charlotte, Huntersville, Cornelius, and Matthews. Cultivates a collaborative environment to better align community health worker program initiatives in Mecklenburg County through the assembly of stakeholders that are deeply invested in the profession.

Provides plan review, permitting and evaluation of public and residential swimming pools. 

Provides plan review, permitting and evaluation of restaurants, temporary food services, meat markets, hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, child care centers, and schools and investigates child led poisoning cases. 

Provides permitting and evaluation of tattoo artists and assists with control of mosquitos and rodents.

Provides commercial plan review, permitting and evaluation of Environmental Health regulated services. Provides new hire training program.

Provides plan review, permitting, and evaluation of child care and adult day service centers, family child care homes, lodging establishments, public and private school buildings, care institutions (nursing homes, hospitals, assisted-living facilities), residential care and local confinement facilities, and mental health, disability, and substance abuse facilities.
