Gun violence is one of the most urgent public health crises facing our country. In Mecklenburg County, the impact is real and deeply felt across neighborhoods and families far beyond the path of a bullet.

Works to advance health equity and address health disparities impacting Mecklenburg County’s Latino/Hispanic population through Communications, Partnerships, Engagement & Outreach, and Departmental Collaboration.

Locations in the community that offer STI Testing.

Provides plan review, permitting and evaluation of public and residential swimming pools. 

Provides plan review, permitting and evaluation of restaurants, temporary food services, meat markets, hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, child care centers, and schools and investigates child led poisoning cases. 

Provides permitting and evaluation of tattoo artists and assists with control of mosquitos and rodents.

Provides commercial plan review, permitting and evaluation of Environmental Health regulated services. Provides new hire training program.

Provides plan review, permitting, and evaluation of child care and adult day service centers, family child care homes, lodging establishments, public and private school buildings, care institutions (nursing homes, hospitals, assisted-living facilities), residential care and local confinement facilities, and mental health, disability, and substance abuse facilities.  

Reviews and grants approval for plans to construct and operate any new or remodeled establishment.
